This week on the pod, Melissa and Boyce talk about some of their favorite museums around the world. Boyce talks about his experience at a museum documenting what happened at Hiroshima and Melissa discusses her love of the Smithsonian. They also talk about some budgeting and planning strategies to make sure you make the most of your visit to any museum.
Next, they welcome Julián Zugazagoitia, the director and CEO of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. Julián discusses some of his favorite museums around the world — from those in his hometown of Mexico City, to his adopted home of Paris, to the arts scene in Tulsa. He then talks about the new exhibit, Napoleon: Power and Splendor, and what you might take away from viewing the new exhibit.
Finally, Julián talks about what a new airport terminal might mean for Kansas City and some of the challenges the Nelson-Atkins has bringing artwork by air to Kansas City.
